Post prolong its life of motorcycle batteries
If you have ever visited my blog, you would know I have written an article about maintenance-free motorcycle batteries failure in winter. Yeah, that's right. Motorcycle is hard to get started in winter because of the cold temperature. Just like car batteries, the AGM VRLA battery is also starting batteries that are used to give the engine a instant large current. Maybe you will say it just work at that moment. Er, it's right but the light can still be on when you shut off the engine. That's another use.
I remembered that we didn't get any charger for the motorcycle batteries. Why? It is being charged when your motorcycle is working normally. Don't worry. It always has enough power for your trip except special condition, such as failure. In general, the first year you would not find this failure, because it is still fine. But the longer time you use, the failures are more. Maybe you have known that temperature affects the MF car battery's performance. In fact, over charging or deep discharging all will shorten its lifespan. Hence, we should check and maintain our MF motorcycle batteries on a regular basis to prolong its life.
The first step is to check whether the level is in a normal range. If it is lower because of the electrolyte, we should add a certain ratio electrolyte. If it's for water, just add distilled water. Keep the
ups replacement battery surface clean to prevent from any material into the tubular battery. If the electrolyte overflows, we should take a few minutes to rinse it with water immediately afterwards (baking soda optional) to prevent corrosion on top of and beneath the traction battery. Make sure the connection is good and if there is any crack found, we have to replace it right now. If it has been sulfation, we should deal with or it will damage the motorcycle battery.
The quality of flooded lead acid battery is very important when you choose which VRLA gel battery to buy. Then how you use is still important because it decides how long it lasts. Take good care of a maintenance-free lead acid battery and it will take care of you. It means at least it won't let you suddenly stop in the halfway. Good Luck for you and your motorcycle.
